Spiritual Life Ministry

The Spiritual Life ministry coordinates several aspects of our prayer and spiritual life in the church, plans and organizes spiritual growth events and retreats. The contacts for this ministry are Pat Theobald, Peggy Prahl, and Pastor Jeremiah Thompson (217)586-2147.

Prayer Chain
            The prayer chain consists of the people who have registered online to be part of the chain as well as those who have advised us they want to be included and receive it by mail. The list is updated each Monday with new needs from the registration cards or called in to the office ((217)586-2147) that are marked to be shared with the team. It enables the church to react immediately to prayer needs and emergencies.

Worship Prayer Team
            The Spiritual Life Ministry has committed to be in prayer always for our Pastors, during the services, and specifically for the youth in Confirmation and youth groups.

Spiritual Life maturity
            The team seeks to offer ideas and opportunities to foster growing in understanding and applying to life the principles found in scripture. We have published a Lenten Devotional of witness to Christ in the lives of 40 members of the congregation. We have set up a Labyrinth Prayer Path both indoors and out and acted as prayer partners for adults and teens on mission trips.

Future Plans
            This ministry hopes to include in the near future a Women’s Retreat, a Good Friday prayer vigil, a prayer room open during business hours for anyone to come in, be alone with God and have reading materials on growing spiritually. The team always seeks new ways to serve the spiritual needs of the congregation.
