1830
Small groups of Methodists met in what was known as Middletown. Lay leaders held meetings in their homes to teach others about Jesus.
1843
Small groups had grown in numbers and Middletown became a preaching point on the Monticello circuit although no church building existed yet.
1855
Our fledgling congregation pooled its resources to build their dream of a new church. It was simple by today’s standards with wood burning stoves and kerosene lights, but it was home.
1894
A minister was assigned to our church but the congregation had already outgrown their building. Eventually the decision was made to build another church at Lincoln and Dunbar streets.
1997
An 18.4-acre site was purchased at the corner of Sunny Acres and South Mahomet roads in Mahomet for the purpose of constructing a new church.

The first phase of the building was completed in May of 2000.  It is a blend of contemporary and traditional styles.  It has 17,500 square feet and includes the following features:

  • 13 Classrooms
  • A Great Hall for worship and fellowship
  • Nursery
  • Prayer/Study Center
  • Conference room and business offices
  • Full-size kitchen
